Brooklyn Black Organic Tom Fruin's Watertower Tote Bag
Brooklyn reps hard, and with good reason. Arguably the place that gives NYC much of its charm and swag both nationally and abroad, Brooklyn is considered the 3rd largest "city" in America and it is estimated that over 1/3 of Brooklyn's residents are born abroad. As NYC's first designated historic district, Brooklyn has given us so much: hip hop, beautiful landmarks, a vibrant Caribbean culture, the list goes on. Brooklyn proudly boasts a special charm that draws many of the city's residents for its' music, sights, sounds, and delicious foods.
To represent this borough, I was inspired by Brooklyn artist Tom Fruin's (@tomfruin) Watertower, a monumental water tower sculpture in colorful salvaged plexiglas and steel. Mounted high, this architectural sculpture has become part of the DUMBO, Brooklyn skyline. Composed of reclaimed materials and rendered beautiful, I find this piece is a fitting representation for a borough whose official moto is "In unity there is strength."
